Advice On Apologizing

Hello Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend exactly as you wish with your friends and family? I am chilling out, with my bestiee, and we got some sun this afternoon in the sand along Candlewood Lake shores in sunny Brookfield, CT. We are going out tonight to socialize with my friend's coworkers. I just released my latest podcast Episode #27: Cliff Walk Weekend last night. Melissa and I ventured out to check out a few bars for the first time last night. The suburbs are way more sleepy and calm compared to night life in New York City. In Connecticut, the last call comes around 1:30AM. Meanwhile, the bars in New York close at 4AM. As an older chick, I can't hang out until 4-5AM anymore unless I take a disco nap. However, I like having the option if I want to hang out available. We may end up having to hang out in sections down in Queens and Manhattan that are far more lively. Let me know in the comment section what interesting things you are into tonight and last night? Here is a question, that I was requested to respond, on Quora about apologizing. Are you a person who readily apologizes? What type of emotion does apologizing evoke? Is it hard for you to apologize? Do you even know the root of the reason for hesitation? I figure the person asking the question has never asked themselves why they hate apologizing. It is hard to apologize when you really do not feel like you should. It is also hard to deal with others who are very sensitive in nature. It is hard to deal with people who dodge the truth and they require you to do the exact same thing. Here is the posed question and my response below. POSED QUESTION: "What does it mean if I only apologize if I have to, and if I do, I don't really mean it?" -Yaklösäal MY RESPONSE: "I believe that only you hold the answer to your own behavior. It is possible that you are currently unaware of the root as to why you behave the way you do. People on the outside can only speculate and throw some ideas your way to help you sort out and figure out your own behavior. For many people, apologizing is a huge challenge. For others, the apology just easily rolls off their tongue. There are a few reasons for offering an apology. You may need to apologize after exposing a painful truth or striving to keep the peace within the family or while amongst friends and/or co-workers. An apology may be necessary after displaying a poor/abrasive choice of words and/or actions. You may have to apologize as a result of a hurtful misunderstanding. An apology may come off as forced or fake if you do not align with the words coming out of your mouth. Admitting faults, for some, makes them feel like they are bad people and can kill the ego. Apologizing can evoke fierce emotions so people try to avoid it like the plague. Why do you have to even apologize in the first place? You are missing the root as to why an apology is even needed in your question. Who is forcing you to apologize? What type of feelings bubble up to the surface as a result of having to apologize? Are you angry for being pressured to take a position that you do not genuinely feel the same deep inside? Do you feel satisfied that you have fooled others via deceiving them with your apology? Are you bothered that you have been exposed as a person who truly lacks remorse for your words or actions? Understanding your emotions will help unlock the meaning that you seek. We all have managed to offend people at some point in our lives. Yes, some people are more sensitive than others. An apology may be the ticket to settling a feud by calming the emotional storm with an apology. Sadly, you very well may be speaking the truth. However, the truth can be painful to many. You can still hold your position regardless of having to apologize. It may be very strategic to just keep how you really feel to yourself. I wish you much luck with self discovery and with future encounters with friends, family, and co-workers." -Leslie M. I try to respond to these questions when I am doing my nightly stroll within the past few weeks. I also like to write while laying on my sheet in the sand while catching some sun. I still can't believe that we are half way through the summer already. Make every day count and enjoy your free time with our loved ones. Therefore, have a fabulous Saturday afternoon either solo or with friends and/or family. It is time to enjoy the weekend however you do when your family depends on you. Try to keep cool and safe this weekend people! Peace out, Cub Scout! CONSTRUCTION TALES- TOLD BY A WOMAN: (5) SHORT STORIES ON AMAZON!!
