Good Read- Okay, So You're Dead by Cindy Grogan

Hello everyone!

I got a book in the mail yesterday and read it the same day.  It is entitled, Okay, So You're Dead..A Sassy Guide to the Afterlife by Cindy Grogan.  I posted a review on Amazon for the book.

An overview of the book:

Do the dead still like karaoke, Twister and espresso? How are they speaking to us every day -- and how can we recognize the messages? Where do pets go when they cross over? What happens after a death from a terminal illness, suicide or unexpected tragedy? Cindy Grogan, The Sensible Psychic shares the answers to her most-asked questions about death, dying and the afterlife. It's a lively, fascinating guide that will dispel some myths and give you fresh perspective on the journey all of us will take one day. This book offers a fascinating look at karma, reincarnation, soul groups, spirit guides, angels and much, much more. The Sensible Psychic has drawn on her decades of experience in the spirit realm to provide healing, humor and comfort in this down-to-earth book. A perfect field guide for anyone who's died. Or plans to.

I walked a few miles while reading this great book last night! It is a quick read filled with wit and humor that's infused appropriately into a serious topic about the afterlife. I enjoyed learning about the Karmic Lessons chapter and examples of loved ones passing peacefully was indeed comforting. I sit with Cindy periodically for readings so I was very interested in reading her book since I appreciate her humor and guidance. She is indeed a clear channel to passed loved ones and a guide for future life events. I advise picking up a copy since you are certain to walk away with a sense of reassurance regarding the end of life and some good takeaway points from the book!

I wanted to share this book with my blog readers in case this topic is of interest.  Thanks for reading and speak to you soon!

Book Talk at George Fischer Middle School in Carmel, New York!!

Hello eveyone!

I had a wonderful experience talking to the students in Ms. Smith's class at George Fischer Middle School!!!  They were a bright group of talented kids!  Some future plumbers, electricians, actresses, models, and some rocket scientists!! They were a pleasure to chat with about my teen version of my book!!!  They are so excited to read about my book!  That feature gave me tremendous amounts of energy and excitment!!!  I gave out copies of the book for the class to read my story!  It should inspire them and challenge them to think that smart and strong boys and girls are capable of doing anything they want to do in life!

The entire class will be reading my book and posting on my blog their thoughts about the different chapters.  I will be posting pictures and comments from students.  They will also be providing fantastic and thorough reviews of the book for Amazon and Barnes & Noble!!  I am excited to exchange and chat with them during the reading process!

I do plan on attending the Mt. Vernon Career Day event being held on May 2nd!  I was invited recently to attend and it would be an honor to inspire students about my field of work!!

The kids can follow me at LeslieMJasper on instagram.  They vowed to interact with me and start a discussion about the book! :) Super excited to hear their feedback.  The book should be inspiring and funny.

As always, thanks for reading my blog!  I look forward to the review process with the students! Take care and will write soon!

Cheers!

Photo of Article! Could Not Resist! The Examiner News in New York

Hello everyone!

I am attaching pics of the article in The Examiner News in the suburbs of New York City.  It is in the Westchester and Putnam County paper this week.  Look for journalist, Bill Primavera, in the Home Guru section for the article.  Thanks for reading and have a great day!

I wanted to add that I made exterior cover changes to the teen version.  It will be unavailable only temporarily (next 24 hours).  I had to fix the back cover since I was not satisfied with it being a plain white background.  Thanks again for reading!!
Cheers!

Reaching Out to Local New York High Schools- Available for Book Talks!!

Hello everyone!

Yes, we are coming up on the weekend!  It is a good mental hurdle.  However, it never means that I kick my feet up and do nothing.  I am not wired that way.  I can only lounge around if I am sick or physically located on a beautiful island somewhere tropical.  I am in the middle of job hunting for a project manager position for a NYC electrical contractor.  In addition, I will be joining the Home Guru Team for William Raveis out of Yorktown Heights, New York helping clients to hunt down real estate in my spare time.  I just studied for the past 2 weeks to get my real estate license that I let lapse for a few years in this recession.  Yes, writing and promoting a book is not enough of a hustle for me.  I fell behind after a few years of no work and a recession that gave me plenty of unemployment.  I did use that block of time of no work to write the book and get my MBA from Iona College.  Therefore, I must make up for lost time and now hustle.

I am reaching out to local high schools in the New York City tri-state area about my book.  I am working on making guidance counselors aware that my book exists and can help guide teens from all walks of life.  It should let them know that even the most difficult goals can be accomplished with drive and determination.  I have a teen version and an adult version on Amazon.  The goal is to inspire young people while telling adults the raw and gritty details that happen on construction jobs.  The teen version is coming to iTunes soon.  Meanwhile, they are available in paperback/Nook/Kindle on Amazon and Barnes&Noble right now.  As always, thanks for reading my blog and checking out the book!

Cheers!
