Co-Host Melissa's YouTube Channel- Launched!!

hi everyone! I just helped my co-host Melissa launch her YouTube channel!! I made sure to be her very first subscriber and she is now connected to the Verbally Disastrous channel. Believe it or not, I am the more tech savvy person of the duo. She has the Verbally Disastrous logo in white so there is a distinction between the two co-hosts. My logo is yellow and where the podcast episodes will be launched on the Verbally Disastrous YouTube & Spotify profiles. Melissa will post her own collection of short videos, dog vlogs, family and friends moments, and her own creative home improvement projects. Sharing "My GROSS Pancake Dream" on YouTube!!

hi everyone! I just released a video where I shared "My GROSS Pancake Dream" video on YouTube. After having the dream, I reached out and posed the question on Quora to invite dream interpretation. The responses ran the gamut with the quality, theme, humor, or lack thereof. I am posting the full responses on here so that you may read in their entirety. As always, feedback is welcomed. I found them to be very humorous and some savage in nature. Some responses were rather actual serious with the delivery. I appreciated the insight with the wide range of feedback. Do you have a dream interpretation that was not mentioned in any of these attached responses? I appreciate when people take the time to really dive into a question and work to analyze the details to come to a logical conclusion. Some of these responses were very inciteful. Some people just wanted to be savage in nature. I feel sorry for them that they didn't bother me at all. I was actually hoping for a few crazy responses. My wish came true. I didn't walk into posing the question with any fear in my heart. I still cannot believe how weird my dream was in nature. I wish I knew the true root of why I had this dream. I am mindful of my dreams due to the history of them. I have had dreams happen in the past that have come to fruition several months later. I highly doubt that I will be making garbage & waster matter pancakes in the near future. I am strongly inclined to think that there is some meaning behind the dream. What is your weirded dream that you have ever had? I cannot remember a dream weirder than this one. Why can't I have dreams about winning the lottery or marrying someone rich? Instead, I have disgusting dreams. The funny thing is I don't feel embarrassed to share the dream. Yes, I know I should feel some form of shame. Podcast Subjects My 15 Year-Old Son Wants To Discuss With Me

hi everyone! I want to share some podcast topics that my 15-year old son Johnny wants to discuss as part of some future podcast topics. Nicknamed Jho, he wants to do some research on some current events. From time to time, my eldest, he is 26-years old, son Tom will join us in on the discussion. They are both looking forward to working on these creative projects with me for the podcast. Additionally, Jho plans to work on some comedy skits to be released on YouTube. I am looking forward to viewing Jho's creativity behind the camera now that he is older than his previous projects. I may be biased but I find my sons to be very humorous. Here are some topics that Johnny is interested in discussing with his brother and I: Johnny's old #ConstructionTales book promo skits when he was 8-9 years old. Robinhood- The trading app and the 20-year old young man who committed suicide over his account issue. Videos via Smosh- A humorous channel on YouTube that he grew up watching. James Freeman Videos- A YouTube channel that focuses on chasing corrupt politicians and law enforcement content. Audit The Audit- A YouTube channel that reviews police and civilian interactions. Meth Urine- A rather odd topic where users of crystal meth drink their own urine in order to achieve a bigger high from the drug. The one topic on this list that I am uncertain about the content and the direction of the episode. I will try to keep it PG as much as possible.

I will share when the topics are created into podcast episodes on Spotify, YouTube, and Soundcloud. As new subject matter rolls in, I will share that content as well. I encourage suggestions, especially from fellow teen readers, on subjects to discuss. Jho knows that I am posting this thread with his topics so he will be on here reading any comments. I am thrilled that he is willing to work on this project with me. It serves as our quality time. I am sure many teenagers would scoff at working on a podcast project with their mother. Then again, he would say that we have a unique relationship. It is true for both of my sons. I have always been an "open book" with honest answers for posed questions. There is literally no subject that is "off limits" under my roof. Thank goodness I don't have a salacious high school history or tremendous drama!! If so, I would have felt compelled to fully disclose details, upon being asked, that would make many people cringe. I am aware that being an open book takes courage and is not for everyone. I am quite sure that the subjects that I am comfortable discussing with my sons, many people would choose to omit. The objective is to never fear me and shy away from important subject matter. I would rather they get the scoop from me than on the streets. I never had an open communication line with my parents and it hampered my growth tremendously!! I think about how much data I could have really used from my parents if they were open to discussing. I went into the military after high school super naïve without knowing about the birds and the bees. I didn't even know what a menstrual cycle was as a teenager. I discovered it at 14-years old and hid it for a few months since it freaked me out. It took a tremendous amount of courage to speak up and ask for help on the subject matter. I remember being absolutely terrified and embarrassed to speak up on the issue of "Aunt Flow". Meanwhile, I probably have the most random, wild, and carefree discussions with my sons. It should be very interesting podcast episodes come to think about it. Both of my sons have similar yet very different personalities. Tom is more reserved, sharp, funny, and an observer like his mom. Jho is such a wise kid, very outgoing, over the top humorous delivery with animated mannerisms, and sometimes sounds older than his age. I used to tease Jho when he was younger and call him Google since he sounded like a walking encyclopedia (Yes, I am showing my age). In modern times, he would be a walking Alexa or Siri. I do not want one of those Alexa devices in my personal space. They kind of freak me out since I am extremely fond of my privacy. Additionally, I do not find them trustworthy in regard to recording and sharing personal data. I am sure I will have a chat with Johnny about Alexa in the near future. Sharing "Work-Out Johnny" YouTube Video

Hi Everyone! In my previous post, I shared my son Johnny's creativeness with some of his promo videos for my book #ConstructionTales when I first released it in 2013-videos were created around 2013-2014. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Audible. Johnny came up with the work out video concept. I was working the camera while Johnny took the lead and created the promotional book video. Maybe there was one or two re-takes with the video. I keep telling Johnny that he is very creative, sharp, and should work on trying to launch an amateur stand up routine. Both of my sons are smart and creative- they are both left handed. He just needs to believe it. Therefore, I have to keep saying it until he believes it. I have to keep encouraging him to develop his projects and foster his creativity. Sharing My "Chick In A Bucket Truck" Photos & 2 Funny Book Promo Videos

hi everyone! I figured I would share two funny videos that my son Johnny, when he was about age 8-9 years old, did as a promo for my book #ConstructionTales that is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Audible. For anyone new reading this post, I wrote about my 5.5 year apprenticeship as a female electrician in New York. I wrote about my journey and the wild & lawless co-workers that I met and worked with along the way. I worked in construction back in the 1990's where drugs, booze, and a filthy unfiltered mouth was the gold standard on each job. I was very young (got into the union at 20 years old) and impressionable thinking back. I learned very quick how to survive on the jobsite with my potty mouth and become a craftswoman along the way. I would get a compliment for my pipe work and I would say, "not bad for a girl huh?" I feel like I was born for construction and working with the guys. As I have gotten older and now work in the office, I have gotten accustomed to this life. However, my roots and heart belong out in the field.

Fun fact- bucket truck work is my absolute favorite work that I love to do as an electrician. I just so happen to have the receipts (my photos) of my work in a bucket truck. :P I wish I had taken more pictures on the job over the years. I am grateful for the ones that I do have. I could be working in -40 or 90 degree weather and I still love it!! I almost became a lineman for the local utility company if I didn't get into the union. Instead, I became an inside wire-woman. I am happiest on a jobsite interacting with the crew no matter the temperature, weather, or conditions. I worked for this contractor (in the photos) for almost five years. It was all the hardest work as an electrician. I used to throw 4" rigid on my shoulder like it was nothing. My boss and coworkers thought of me as "one of the guys". I even tried to hide my pregnancy while in a trench back in 2004-2005. Those stories will be told in Construction Tales: Volume 2: My Illuminated Path Continues...

My eldest Tom followed my footsteps (I tried to talk him out of it) and is now an apprentice electrician like his momma. He is also born for the business and absolutely loves what he does. I have yet to find out if my younger son Johnny will follow us into construction. If he does, that will be a unique situation. His dad is an electrician, his mom, and his brother- that would be unique to have an entire family doing the same line of work. Jho is turning 16 years old in about a month. For some of the videos, he had forgotten about doing the videos. He got a good laugh upon reviewing his old work and said he should re-enact the videos. That may be a project in the future. 100 Posts On My Blog In About A Month!! -Sharing A REALLY Weird Dream! :P

hi everyone!! I am sharing that, as of recent, I have reached 100 Posts on this blog/website!!! I made the switch about 6 weeks ago from Blogger. Blogger is still my back up dancer- just in case the $hit hits the fan on Word Press. You have many choices on the internet to read content from around the globe. I am honored that you have stopped by my page to read and share a laugh or two...or three damn it! :P My two old blogs here on Blogger have been around- the first blog since 2013 and the second since 2017. As of January 2021, I made the change and shift my focus to blog over on Word Press. Yes, Word Press is my main dude. Blogger is now my two side dudes- sorry fellas. Yup- my old Go Daddy website is my baby daddy that I no longer even deal with- "he" needs to figure it out on his own without my money. For some reason, that doesn't sound very prim and proper. I brought over a lot of content from my Blogger site and brought it over to Word Press. I do have a Tumblr profile yet I do not use it too much. I had previously opened a Word Press blog/website but never really used it until now. I made the mistake of having a website, since 2013, using Go Daddy's platform. The pile of fees that came at me random on Go Daddy was entirely too much money to operate. Therefore, I abandoned ship and shut down the website. One lives and learns what to do and how to navigate the internet. I have come a long way from the woman with the tools that did not know how to use a computer! Trust me I have a lot more things to learn. I am no longer drop kicking my computer into the abyss of my hallway in my house with as much attitude and angst as possible anymore!!! Yay Leslie!!

I encourage you to check out my Verbally Disastrous YouTube videos- I would like to think that I have some humorous content. Yes, I plan to work on new content soon. Our podcast should be having a new episode released this weekend. Melissa and I have been busy and learning how to use the equipment- it has been a huge learning curve for both of us. It was Verbally Disastrous indeed trying to discuss "Gorilla Glue" lady! Ugh Melissa's portion of the chat was not picked up! We both entered the Soundtrap studio and Melissa called in. I had assumed that by her video calling me through Soundtrap in the studio, I could pick up her audio on my audio track that I was actively recording. Boy was I wrong!!!! (cue the sound of me slamming my head rigorously against the wall-uuuaarrggghhhh!!!) I have learned that we each must add a track and each record. I have thought about releasing it (just to show it is a disaster) or totally scrapping it. I learned how to create a Verbally Disastrous Soundcloud profile so I have the blog content loaded there as well. I am even gently stalking Reddit & Quora as well. I have to come up with some really obscure things to bring up for discussion. I need to think a little deeper and more ridiculous. For instance, on Quora I spoke about a dream where I was making pancakes with garbage and fecal matter. I woke up being nauseous and wanting to vomit. I was shopping with my eldest son for an electric skillet at Walmart the night before and discussing a snafu he had as an apprentice electrician. I was thinking about how I must try to help him with the situation. It didn't take long to get feedback once I discussed the very odd pancake pooh dream. I must say- I am HIGHLY amused at the random responses!! Everything from "you're sick" to needing Jesus to deep psychological issues brewing! I know I should put together a slide show of the responses from people and share with you all. It is on my 'to-do' list! :) Well, I chewed your ear off enough in this post. Sharing A Video Slideshow Of My 2013 Renovation Project- Girl Power!! :P

hi everyone! I am sharing a slide show of one of my many renovation projects. I recently found renovation photos in an old computer so I plan to put them together in future slide shows. I kick myself for not better documenting other projects over the years. I learned how to use the #Animoto program to create a slide show of my photos of my 2013 renovation project. I started that project in June of 2013 after parting ways with a long term relationship. This work was done in the evenings and weekends when I had free time to work on it. I I loaded an audio to the slide show so I can talk about the project. I officially built a sheetrock buddy, affectionately called Juan Carlos Santana, and hung rock on the ceiling solo for the first time during that project. My sons made guest appearances to help with cleanup since video games are more important. They know that I am capable of doing my own work- they don't even bat an eye when I talk about my home improvement projects. I do appreciate that I was able to teach my eldest how to hang sheetrock. I learned how to do renovation work, over the years as an electrician on the jobsites, by watching guys work on the jobsite. I was even lucky to get some stuff, such as insulation or carpet, that was being thrown away over the years. I am a huge fan of metal studs so I used them in the project. I do not like to touch concrete (other than demo), taping (it takes me forever to get it perfect), roof, tile, or sweating copper pipe. I did bring in a buddy to remove old and install the new baseboards. I hired a guy to do my !8" x 18" porcelain tile. Another buddy came in to tape the seams- he LOVED my tight seams! Everything else is fair game in my book!! I have some other projects I will film or take photos and discuss the project. For one of my current projects, I am stripping paint, sanding, and putting some new paint on the walls. Additionally, my girlfriend Melissa bought a house this year so she has some renovation projects to pitch in and help her out. Check out my video and let me know what you think about the project. Sharing A Work Prank From 2012 On YouTube

hi everyone! I am sharing a work prank on a coworker, back in 2012, that I got in on with another coworker back when I still worked with the tools. I had forgotten that we pulled the prank- after all, I have been involved with so many in my career. We had a coworker that used to easily drift off to sleep while at work. A plan at his expense was hatched. At first we joked about having an air horn app on the phone. At the time, back in 2012, I don't think we had one that would be as effective. Why not bring one to work?? We found the opportunity and we decided to strike! I operated as the camera person while my coworker got within ear shot and let loose on the horn. It was super hard to contain the laughter. We had just challenged an apprentice to a 30-pack White Castle Challenge on the jobsite- we have that on film as well. Compared to modern camera phones, the films from 2012 are not as good. However, I will share them nonetheless. Uploaded Daisy (dog) Vs Bootsie (cat) videos on YouTube

hello everyone! I was digging into old files in a retired computer and stumbled on some old video gems. My Siamese cat (may she R.I.P.) named Bootsie used to play with my two Jack Russell dogs named Daisy and Otis. whenever we used to take the dogs on a walk, my cat would follow to mess around with them. It was super precious to see them now that my Bootsie had to be put down. I remember Otis finding Bootsie when she was dying of kidney failure. Otis was nudging her trying to figure out what was wrong with her. She jumped up to greet him but then got back down into her previous pose in bed. Animals are a joy despite a lot of hair and messes to clean up after them. Animals are the joys of the childhood of my children as well as my adult memories. So far, I have found, despite being grainy, three cute videos of the animals interacting to share on YouTube. I Responded To A Canadian College Survey On Gender-Diversity & Invisible Barriers In Construction

Hello everyone! I participated in a survey for a Canadian college on gender-diversity and invisible barriers for women in construction. I screenshotted it so that I can share with the readers. Check it out and let me know what you think?

As I had shared previously, I have joined Reddit as of yesterday. There are way too many rules in that community that I have not yet figured out. It sounds like you need some time on the forum before you are allowed to speak. You need karma points. I have no idea about selling coins- not interested in that mess. I typed in some key words in an attempt to connect with a community of either like minded folks, people with similar interests, or fellow women in the trades. Whenever I type in certain key phrases pertaining to women in construction, I brace myself for the crass feedback. I am honestly surprised with the warm reception that I have stumbled upon about women in the trades in construction. While many people make bad assumptions about women in construction, there must be some good trade women making some good impressions over the years. For the ladies who have done us a solid with their great working reputations, I thank you wholeheartedly!! I was pleasantly surprised to see that some men said that if women just work hard, that they will be embraced into the trade. That is the way that life should be- based upon merit. Yes, I still believe that you must be better than the worst man on the job so you are the first one on the round #1 layoff. It is nothing bad, it is what it is out there. It is true that you get some preferential treatment if your parent was in the business before you. Yes, you are initially viewed either more or less favorable based upon previous experiences on the job with your parents or other family members who entered the trade before you did. It is still up to the individual to shape that final assessment of their peers. I would be interested, either like minded or not, in your opinion of the shared survey. My Response To "Why Are Some Men (and Women, Romantically) Afraid of Strong Women?" Question Posed On Quora...

hi everyone! As I was sifting on Quora, I stumbled upon a question that jumped out at me. The posed question had zero responses. Therefore, I decided to jump on it like white on rice. I wanted to share my take on a question posed on Quora. Every once in awhile you feel compelled to respond to a query. Well, here is that moment where I felt compelled to give an answer on #Quora about #strong #women and the meaning thereof. This very well may become a future podcast topic. I know questions like this flush out the men vs women comments. I find the whole gender hating debate to be frustrating and not necessary. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses that they bring to different environments. I happen to be very physically and mentally strong. I know not all people share the same qualities and that is okay. I used to be more unforgiving and hard on people who were not sharp and lazy in nature. Don't get me wrong, I am still not a fan of lazy people. I chose to respond to the question based upon how I view the world and my own experiences. I evolved from a shy young woman to a way more outgoing, confident, driven, independent woman. It took becoming a widow at a young age to knock me on my ass. I was forced to work hard and fend for myself so that my son and I could survive. I had bought a house very young and didn't want to lose it to anyone. I broke barriers in my work world because I listened, paid attention, and showed that I wanted to grow. Men gave me a pass for being eager to learn and strong enough physically to handle any task. It helped that I was a quick learner and was able to learn via watching others and mimicking their steps. I was pleased when coworkers actually forgot that I was a woman. I was considered one of the guys when I worked with the tools- I left in 2014. My years of interacting with men have rubbed off on me. I walk into a place with many of the same strong characteristics that my male coworkers exhibit without thinking about it. I stand in masculine energy and I do not know how to "turn it off". Sometimes, I think about being softer in nature. However, I am good with my tough construction worker energy. What do you think about my response to the posed question? In case you are on Quora, I encourage you to hunt down my posed questions and provide a response. I decided to throw out some questions on Quora as well. I posed two questions on my recent weird dreams. Yes, they were very weird dreams. So far, the feedback on them has ran the gamut of interesting. One woman claims that, "You're sick!" I was humored and responded back sarcastically. I am sure I will blog about in once I get a few more responses coming in. I have to remember a few more other weird dreams and submit them for feedback as well. The dream interpretation varies depending on what part of the world you reside and your ideology. I try to pay attention to dreams since they sometimes result in a subsequent event happening. As of now, Reddit looks very restrictive and frustrating to use. Verbally Disastrous Is Now On Reddit!!

hi everyone! I have always heard of Reddit. However, I have never ventured onto the website that was created 15 years ago. Perhaps I should have during the launch of my book in 2013. However, it is enough managing the social media platforms that I do have. I decided to kick it up a notch to get more exposure for the podcast. So here I am whoring out the podcast to another platform!! LOL! I am not sure how savage the Reddit community is -as of yet. Then again, they may be a glorious group that I have been missing out on for my entire life. Two Videos-Speaking At IABX In New Jersey On My Book

Hello everyone! Every once in awhile, I find things that I have not previously shared. Today, I found some videos where I was speaking during an Independent Authors Book Expo a few years ago in New Jersey. I did some video clips for an author and she returned the favor. I reviewed my adult version is entitled, Construction Tales: Volume I: A Woman's Journey to Become an Electrician. My edited teen version is entitled, Construction Tales: A Young Person's Guide To Accomplish Anything In Life. I felt like the book was too raw for young readers- I would be embarrassed if a kid read my adult version of the book. I felt better by trying to remove cursing and nasty coworker antics. The message of keep pressing on with your plan and not giving up is a strong message for young people. It didn't initially occur to me that I should edit the book until after the initial release. I then read the book in a recording studio and loaded it to #Audible. If the teen version picks up with interest, I will sit in the studio and do an audio version for the teen edition. I am sure there will be a cringe moment involving my book and a young reader in the future. Luckily, I have not encountered that.... yet. Just so you know, I will publish any book reviews, good or bad, that have been submitted to me. I have published a few reviews so far from friends and coworkers. I even took a negative comment from a reader and applied the feedback to the teen version. I promise I won't come after you with my masculine energy if you have a critique. I handle it decently- like a dude. I have worked with men for most of my career. I have learned to not be emotional and leave feelings out of feedback- no matter where it comes from in life. That is unless you come at me like a savage troll, I will unleash my construction laden venom. I fear no woman on the planet and very few men. As I have asked previously, I will accept topic ideas (except politics or religion) for future podcast episodes. I have attended a handful of Independent Authors Book Expos- all held at various locations in New Jersey. I got to meet some cool visitors, authors, illustrators, editors, and poets at the events over the years. I would like to find other similar style book fairs to attend- once Covid-19 finally ends up being viewed in the rearview mirror. Hello everyone! I wanted to share some videos that my son creatively came up to help market the book #ConstructionTales. My son Johnny is turning 16-years old in April. I just reminded him this week about the book promotional videos he created while I laughed behind the camera. He had forgotten about the majority of them. He cringed at his Officer Johnny video. Upcoming Documentaries We Will Review & Discuss On The Verbally Disastrous Podcast on Spotify & YouTube!!

hello everyone! Melissa and I are reviewing some oddball documentaries that we have chosen to watch jointly then discuss. Once we are satisfied with our audio work in the Soundtrap studio, we will make it live for Spotify. I will then launch it onto YouTube as well. Here is a sample of the upcoming documentaries that we are going to review: Voyeur- A 2017 Netflix documentary that was directed by Myles Kane & Josh Koury, and produced by Impact Partners. This documentary reviews Gay Talese who investigates Gerald Foos- a Colorado motel owner who spies on his guest. We anticipate that this will be an interesting review. Rocco- A 2016 Netflix documentary that was directed by Alban Teurial & Thierry Demaiziere. The production company is Two to Tangle Productions- a rather interesting name. This documentary follows Rocco Siffredi as he shifts from a priest (his mother's request) to a porn star. Rocco has become to porn what Mike Tyson is to boxing; a living legend. This was a French release so I am sure it will be culturally enlightening and all around interesting to review. Hot Girls Wanted- A 2015 Netflix documentary that was directed by Jill Bauer & Ronna Gradus. This documentary follows the lifestyle of five of young female amateur porn stars in Florida, U.S.A. We are certain that this will be as enlightening as Lot Lizard was for truck stop transactions across America. The Fear of 13- A 2015 Netflix documentary that was directed by David Sington. This documentary follows a convicted death row inmate, for the past 20 years, who is petitioning the court to ask for his execution. As he tells his story, it gradually becomes clear that nothing is quite what it seems.
