Hello Everyone!
How are you spending your time on your holiday Sunday afternoon that is the last day of New Year's weekend!? However you plan to spend your Sunday, I hope you are safe, happy, and healthy. Can you believe that we have reached the year 2022!? We all deserve, as a society, a better year than the past two years. As I usually do for you all, I decided to pull some more questions from Quora so that we can review and discuss. This chosen topic is about the meaning of a, "belied appearance". I have had a perception of this definition before taking the time to look it up. My internal definition has changed now that I have done the leg work. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn something new. How do you feel about this phrase? Prior to reading the Oxford Dictionary definition, what did it mean to you? Did your internal definition alter much? Can you count out the amount of people who carry on in life with a belied appearance? On the other hand, are you lucky to have not crossed paths with folks who are not being authentic? Do you fully understand why, the people who you know, feel the need to carry on a projection of who they want others to see? I have not escaped folks with belied appearances. However, I have been able to mostly dodge folks who do not walk the walk. We all have very unique journeys that are fascinating in itself. There is no need to cast a shadow on a walk not your own since your walk is very unique and interesting. I highly understand the feeling of not being where you want to be in life. May that fact inspire you to push harder towards what you want in life. Being exposed by others for leading a false narrative cannot be good for one's growth at all. I would be mortified in that case. Therefore, that emotional pain from exposure is a sizable deterrent for me to just stay on my path. I understand that the shiny, enticing world that is social media can give people a feeling of being quite inferior. Just know that much of that world is just an allusion. The most adored social media figures use filters and apps to alter their appearance. Besides, living that constant lie is a tremendous amount of pressure and cannot be satisfying at all for the person conducting that belied appearance. Make no mistake, you are exactly where God and the Universe wants you to be in life. If you do not like where you are in life, use that fact as fuel to propel you to where you want to be. If your interpretation varies significantly different than mine, let me know. "This is a term that I have seen in passing yet never stopped to look up the definition…until now. I have an interpretation in my mind yet not 100% sure. Therefore, let’s look at the definition to double check. It appears that the term ‘belie’ is the one to focus on for the definition. The term ‘appearance’ will just blend in with the first term ‘belie’. Here is the definition of ‘belie’ according to the Oxford Dictionary:

Based upon the above definition, a person is giving off a false appearance to others. In other words, the persona or impression being given to society is false. This false persona can be uncovered via various contradictions that have been discovered. I’m sad for the person who feels the need to give a false persona. The world is our oyster and we all have the same amount of hours in a day. Yes, we come from different backgrounds and privileges that may give a competitive advantage. However, many have leaped out of those initial circumstances to create amazing lives for themselves. Remember that some appearances can come based upon individual perception and not so much what the person says. Some may say to try to give mercy to a person whose bubble has been burst. Their self-esteem must be in the dirt in order to create a belied appearance. It is totally up to you how you wish to approach the unraveling of a belied appearance. I personally lose respect for people who are not in fact who they say that they are. I didn’t come from money and am not ashamed of not being rich. We all have journeys in life to have and lessons to learn. I value hard work and the story of the person who champions against all odds.
