We made it to Thursday my friend. We have some overtime on my project so that is good for my pockets. The humidity is ramping up after some thunderstorms here in New York City. How is the weather on your side of the globe? I know I need to get back on the horse and crank out some more podcast episodes. For awhile, I was drawing a blank with podcast topics. I'm going to work on a few this weekend- I hope! Work occupies so much of my time. By the time I get home, I just want to rest before the next day. I may chill out compared to last weekend. If there is a couple, the person who makes the most money of the two is considered as the breadwinner. Traditionally, men were the breadwinners of the average family. Nowadays, women have joined the workforce and have even become become the breadwinners of the family. Where does the origin of "Breadwinner" from? The term is thought to have originated in the U.K. in the 1820s. At the time, and even today, bread is considered a staple food item. As such, the person who brought home the bulk of the money for a family, therefore, was bringing home the bread, so to speak. I hope this helps you with understanding the term. Sad to say but it’s true. Each day that you wake up, you dodged death yet again. Therefore, the time that you are still living on is time that’s borrowed before eventual death. The postponement of the inevitable is indeed death. No matter how we live our lives, we are all going to die some day. I don’t know why the time is defined as “borrowed” since when we die, we don’t pay the time back. Some people take better care of their bodies so they live much longer. Meanwhile, others live rather dangerously and each day they are rolling the dice on their own mortality. Living on borrowed time sounds both depressing yet very realistic.
