Hello everyone!
I was promoting my book heavily on Twitter- especially back in the beginning of it's release. Admittedly, I have dropped off the radar for a number of years. I have most recently gotten back on the marketing horse. Someone on Twitter, who is obviously into data and analytics, shared with me the traffic for a June 2015 book fair hash tag. I am just an aggressive and ambitious woman by nature and didn't do it intentionally. I certainly didn't want to piss the group off. That would have defeated my whole marketing strategy. I didn't realize that what I was doing was very clever in nature. He told me that pretty much anyone in the Twitter world involved with that book fair had crossed paths with my marketing material via the event hash tag.
I have since devised a 2021 strategy to target market my book all year round to book fairs and their participants. A global pandemic makes it helpful since people will be searching the internet more rigorously than normal since attendance has been cancelled/tapered down. If I add a series of book fair hashtags to all of my blogs from all over the world, I should get more traffic. I am going to test this theory out then see monitor my traffic. I am doing this in the name of science, of course (cue cheesy grin). I shall provide an update, providing that I remember, say around June and December of 2021. My old strategy of reminding myself of book fairs then abusing the hashtag only pissed off people on Twitter. This approach is more of an organic way to offer my book content to readers around the globe. Fingers crossed. ;)
I am interested in your marketing strategy. Do you have something similar in nature? Please offer some feedback- if you would like. I wish you a good week and a healthy 2021!
Cheers!

Link to Independent Authors Book Expo Flyer
Looking Forward to Meeting Fellow Authors at 2nd Annual Independent Author Expo in New Jersey October 24,2015!!
Hello everyone!
I wanted to share again that I am going to attend the 2nd Annual Independent Author Expo in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It will take place at the Crown Plaza on October 24, 2015 and runs from 11-4pm. The event is FREE to the public! You get to see a variety of authors speak about their book. Fellow author Renaee Smith was gracious to extend an invitation to the event. I am working on seeing if I can get my teen version of my book exposed as well! That version is entitled, Construction Tales: A Young Person's Guide to Accomplish Anything in Life. It is available on Amazon.
For authors to register for the event, just reach out to Renaee Smith at www.iabx.org and get started. You will get a table and have about 5 minutes to pitch your book. In addition, have a few copies on hand to sell to potential book buyers. I am excited to work with a relatively new group of people on this venture. There needs to be more of these venues in an effort to showcase books by independent authors. My book is considered unique so I didn't get a shot from traditional publishers. I am grateful to Amazon since this vehicle made my goal of being an author possible. I wanted to tell readers how my journey to become a female electrician is possible. I think it is important to inspire other women and minorities to take on a challenge despite opposition and a warm embrace. I give the gift of using humor to combat negative energy from coworkers who do not think you belong there. Hard work, humor, and tuning out negative comments will help you accomplish your goals. At some point, people will give you a pass after proving that you are a hard worker and refuse to allow anything to beat you down. It is important to make light of all nonsense and do not take it to heart or hold onto the negative energy. I always tell some of my young mentees that success is the best revenge in life. Doing good is good for yourself and puts anyone who doubted you right in their place. Well, I must get off here and get some more tasks accomplished. I will certainly speak to you all again.mi was thinking of doing a few YouTube clips talking about sections of the book. I will digest and break down a chapter and fully explain my position. I will share those when they become available. As always, thanks for reading!
Cheers!

Hello everyone!

The venue is free to the public and runs from 11am-4pm. I will offer the books at a deeply discounted rate at the event. I will have the adult and teen version of the book on hand. I am looking forward to the event! I already mentioned that I had the book and trailer at the 2015 Book Expo America that was held May 27-29th at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. I am also going to have the book and trailer on display at a book fair being held the end of this month in San Francisco. I have a few locations where libraries in Rhode Island have asked to place my book in their library. I plan to do that soon. Now I have this local book expo to attend in New Jersey at the end of October. I must go back to work so have a great day! Thanks for reading as always!
Cheers!
Leslie M Jasper (future Mrs. Stakley)
I must add that I intend on getting married next summer. I felt it was necessary to introduce my future last name. My fiancé would like for me to drop Jasper and take on Stakley. I agreed to it since I did not hold onto my maiden name when I got married as a young woman. My future books will be written under the name Leslie M. Stakley. I may hyphenate my second book so name would be written as Leslie M. Jasper-Stakley. I just figured I would explain why I have placed my future last name in my blog posts. Thanks for reading as always!!!!

Still Shot of Video Footage and Book Placement of 2015 Book Expo America in New York City! May 27-29, 2015
Hello everyone!
I wanted to show you real quick the still shot of the video that was playing my book trailer on a look with other books for Book Expo America being held at the Javits Center in New York City last week! I am thinking about putting it in the San Francisco Book fair going down this month in June. I am hoping to get into a few more ventures this year. I shall see how it goes. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iTunes. I have to get the audio version ready since it needs a final edit. I thank you for reading my blog as usual! I am almost done reading Hard Hatted Women. It is a collection of stories of women in different male-dominated trades from the 1980's. I plan to finish reading and speak about it. Thanks for reading!
Cheers!
