Sharing Some Crazy Guy Audio Ramblings On YouTube

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having not too crazy of a Monday?! I hope you are having an easy breezy time with no issues. I am sharing some audio that I captured last week while walking home. I had some fella follow me for quite a ways while endlessly rambling nonstop about many things. Some of it was a political rant. He sounded mad at the world. He kept following me off Bell Blvd and for a few blocks. He must be known within the community. He stopped following me once an NYPD vehicle did a U-turn and approached him. I guess he didn't want any of that smoke and started walking back to Bell Blvd. I didn't like the unflattering video footage of the sky and my forehead, I was carrying a box when this happened, so made it into an audio format and then used Animoto to create the MP4 format again. Just Released Podcast Episode #34: How To Become A NYC Site Safety Manager

Photo Credit: www.totalsafety.org Hello Everyone, I have been occupied with other projects lately and my podcast has been on the back burner. Not having my car has altered my weeks. I sure hope you are having a much better time. I spend more time walking and taking mass transit. I don't want to wine about it since it could always be worse. However, it has had an impact on my creative projects. I spent 6 hours traveling to see my youngest son Jho play with his varsity football team on Saturday. The Carmel Rams beat New Rochelle by 28-0. My son said that his team was afraid of New Rochelle since they were state champs last year. I am happy for my son being apart of a positive and winning experience. I need to rent a car on football nights until I get my permanent car. He is a junior so he has less than 2 years left with high school. It was worth the trek to see his excitement. Now, I opted to release a podcast episode to offer guidance as to becoming a Site Safety Manager in New York City. I shared the useful study guides and the order of operations on the certifications and exams being accomplished. For a person not interested in the journey yet curious, I hope this offers a snapshot in what it takes to become a leader in safety. Any construction jobsite you see with NYC DOB permits, it may have site safety managers onsite. It hinges as to what stage the project is in. Usually, when the exterior is sealed and the sidewalk sheds (built over the sidewalks) are broken down and removed, the site safety manager is no longer required onsite. I try to break it down colorful and in layman's terms for a basic understanding. If I say anything that is a challenge to translate, please let me know. This episode has been loaded to YouTube. My Latest Side Hustle Authoring Low Content Books On Amazon!!

Do you fantasize about your weekend grill menu today or the past week? It is not something that I do. However, I appreciate others who think about lunch and dinner at 7AM at work. It felt like it went by fast for me this week. I have been very involved with a variety of tasks. My latest side hustle is releasing low content books on Amazon!! Of course, I am going to share this new venture on this blog post. It's only fair since I have dedicated quite a few time to working on creating them and not to my usual blogging. I indeed owe a new podcast episode since I am behind. I shall try to release another one this weekend. I need to work on more step-by-step safety tutorials on my Leslie M. Jasper YouTube Channel as well. The goal is to grow a collection of side hustles from the computer. I have a bad back nowadays so I have to be cautious with hurting it through manual labor. I did it for many years without even thinking there is an expiration date via pain. Protect your body if you are a young person. I have always been a little rough around the edges. I scoffed at using a back brace or knee pads. In hindsight, I should have been more diligent with the tools to minimize injury. These are lessons even for the most stubborn..LOL. Hopefully, you listened to your elders better than I did. I always have nervous energy and always feel like I need to keep busy. I always feel better when I am working on my creative projects. For the past few weeks, I have dedicated a lot of time to launching my low content book library on Amazon. I started using my artwork, from this past winter, for the covers of my various low content books. I plan to create more future artwork so that I can use them on my upcoming content. I also use patterns that are considered "public domain". You don't earn as much in royalties when you use public domain work. I am aware that I need to mix it up with popular items, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, to attract buyers to my content. My goal is to create thousands of different titles for Amazon. I am using www.bookbolt.io right now to create my low content books. As of today, I have 27 low content books that are now live on Amazon. According to my KDP account, it takes up to 72 hours for the work to be published. However, in my case, it has averaged (5) days from the time I pushed complete to going live. It is to your advantage to create your own covers for your content. Are you also a fellow author on Amazon? If so, what is your experience? I believe that I will earn some decent royalties with this extra side hustle. If you sit on your hands, you will never know if it will work out or not. I like the thought of putting it online and walking away and not having to babysit it. I say that I want to put thousands to books online. However, I will go for at least 500 books and watch their performance. I will carve more time if they do well. I have quite a few 2022-2023 Monthly Planners submitted just in time for the end of the year. I will create some holiday themed covers as well. On the personal front, I have to get my ass upstate to watch my youngest son Jho play with his Carmel varsity football team against New Rochelle tonight. This means taking subway and train up out of the city before rush hour. I am looking forward to cheering my boy on tonight with my eldest son. I have been helping my friend with cleaning the attic and getting ready to move. I personally hate to move. I did it in 2017 and rented out my property since I got burned out with the long commute into New York City. Well, I have some tasks to work on so I will say bye for now. I have been working on my latest side business venture over the past few days. I am creating journals, sketchbooks, and gratitude journals and have them on Amazon for sale. I am focused now on trying to pound out some journals and put them online so I can get an income stream going. When I have time, I will hunt down and share questions from Quora and my corny advice. I try to answer all requests on Quora and look for questions that caught my eye. This Quora question is about some corny chick sharing to a dude that he is her "moon". I guess it is a great way to let a dude know that you are his new stalker-LOL! It sounds great if he is interested. It sounds psycho if she is the only party interested. If you are reading or listening to this blog post from the bar, I say "cheers" to you and your buddies! I'm tired of discussing my Hurricane Ida loss bullshit so this is the last comment on it. How high on your list is loyalty amongst family and friends? I have a very small circle of friends. I have been that way since I was a kid. I only had one valuable friend in middle school and one close friend in high school when I moved. My sons have a small circle of friends too. I also value a person who is a good, loyal friend. This desire for loyalty is why I don't allow a bunch of people into my inner circle. Yes, a loyal person is indeed a valuable treasure! What other qualities do you seek out in your friends? Advice On A Person Gauging Your Fear

If you are reading this from the bar, I say "cheers" to you and your buddies! Yes, as I have mentioned in the past few posts, I am still dealing with the painful process of replacing my SUV that was lost during Hurricane Ida. I am now trying to pound you over the head with some questions from Quora and my corny advice. I have dropped a few on you at once tonight since I have found some time. I found even more questions geared for me on Quora and this is another one that caught my eye. I had some in draft mode for a little while and I recently re-discovered it. This one is the latest and greatest request for me to respond on Quora. This topic is on the meaning of someone asking you if you fear them. My answer is always HELL NO!! Even if I did have a small smidge of fear, I would not reveal that. I had to take beatings from my dad who had giant meat hooks. I served in the Navy and learned how to be even tougher there. I am also a seasoned NY construction worker who has dealt with all walks of life on the job over the years. All of those experiences have hardened me tremendously. A dude could not give a harder beating than my old man. Besides, I am way too damn stubborn to fear anyone much less reveal it if I was fearful. As a New Yorker, you know when you are dealing with a crazy situation, you know to pretend to be crazy mental patient your damn self too. Advice On Signs A Person Is In Need Of A Beating?!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a great work week! If you are reading this from the bar, I say "cheers" to you and your buddies! I have been off the grid lately dealing with many things that life throws at me. Yes, the painful process of replacing my SUV that is still ongoing. I had to clean up a basement that was filled with stuff that got ruined by Hurricane Ida. I am now trying to carve out time to check out some questions on Quora. I have a few to drop on you at once. I found even more questions geared for me on Quora and this is another one that caught my eye. I had it in draft mode for awhile and I recently re-discovered it. This topic is on the signs that someone is looking for an ass whooping. Oh... let me count the many ways!! My first thought is before you think about the signs, ya better be able to dish out an ass whooping. That would be so embarrassing being out on the streets trying to kick some ass to only have your ass kicked. In the modern era of cell phones and the internet, your ass kicking could end up viral on World Star Hip Hop or some other media source. I sure as hell hope that this has never happened to you!! May all who set out to kick some foul guy's ass do to completion. If you hurt them really bad, do 'em a solid and call 911 for 'em. After all, you don't want to kill him/her do ya!? (Hint: this is sarcasm) People do fucked up stuff every single day. Is it really your job to kick their ass when they get out of line?? In reality, I try to keep it moving and blood off my knuckles. The older I get, the less desirable a street find sounds to me. However, I couldn't resist responding. This thief choose to steal your personal items 8. This liar can’t tell the truth to save their life 9. Some ignorant fool decided to spew out the “N” word 10. The bully who decided to pick on weak people 11. Your drunk a$$ friend decided to vomit in your car, house, on the bed, on the side of the toilet (a$$ beating when they are sober) :P 12. The cheater who disregarded your marriage and decided to deliver the pipe to his secretary on the regular 13. The loser wife/hubby secretly racked up credit cards behind your back 14. That moron who decides to rat you out for that little side business you got going on that’s not harming anyone 15. The person who calls you a friend to their face yet blabs your secrets behind your back to anyone who will listen 16. The friend that always asks for favors yet dodges you when you ask for a favor in return. 17. That guy who buys you a beer and thinks that buys him a cheap feel. (I have dropped a dude in the bread basket with my elbow for doing that) 18. Advice On Dodging Unsolicited Feedback

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a way better work week than myself. I have been off the grid lately dealing with many things. I had the painful process of replacing my SUV that is still ongoing. I had to clean up a basement that was filled with stuff that got ruined by Hurricane Ida. I am now trying to carve out time to check out some questions on Quora. I have a few to drop on you at once. I found some more questions geared for me on Quora and this one caught my eye. I had it in draft mode for awhile and I recently re-discovered it. It discusses how to 'politely' tell another person, who is offering unsolicited advice, to 'mind their own business'. I am aware that everyone has a different style of communication. Obviously, I am not afraid of speaking or writing out how I feel. I am aware that this is a challenge for many people either verbally or written. Different cultures also present their own unique way of handling this issue. Perhaps you are not looking to offend the other party. However, you also don't want to take the advice of the other party either. I tend to value the input of others since we all think differently. I'm aware that cutting off another person's advice could stunt my growth in the future. On the other hand, the person giving advice is not going to actually face the consequences of the actual action taken. Therefore, it is my choice. What is your communication style? Do you tend to rub people the wrong way when you tell people to back off? Are you afraid of hurting feelings so you just let them talk? Do you boldly move in the direction you want to go while no one is looking? Do you greatly fear the backlash of the person offering advice? Are there consequences for ignoring the other party? I tend to thank people for their input and somewhat finesse them. You can never go wrong with thanking a person for their input. I then make my own decision and action with or without an audience or an apology. I have been on my own since I was 17-years old so I don't fear pissing anyone off. The only person I would take their input into serious consideration would be my significant other- if he existed. Since he doesn't currently exist, my decisions are all mine to make 100%- ha-ha-ha!! If it involved my sons, I would have to have their feelings in consideration. I'm grateful for being free to do as I wish. I greatly feel for you if you are forced to kiss another person's ass via listening to their opinion. I thank them for their input since that is the right thing to do. I then follow up with my honest impending approach to the decision. I don’t know if it is considered clever or subtle. To me, a subtle move would be to not announce it and make the move in silence and in the dark. Always remember it is your decision and your risk or reward at the end. Here are some samples of my style of finesse and letting the person know my final decision. Thank you kindly for your concern and advice. It is time for me to step up to the plate and make a decision that will either be my risk or reward. I understand why you think the way you do. However, I need to make the decision that works for my household. I typically listen and value your input and thank you for your guidance. I released another short story on working with one of the worst apprentices, who earned the nickname Lucky, in the history of my career. The unique thing about this guy was that EVERYONE I worked with also had huge challenges working with the guy. As an apprentice, it is our obligation to teach them as journeyman/woman. In turn, it is their obligation to absorb what we teach and move accordingly. I even took the time to break down the task into a step-by-step method. He would then go do what he wanted and it was an absolute disaster. Out of anyone in the shop, I had the most patience with him. This is a guy that would never ever be able to become a contractor and work on his own. He was missing many key characteristics that it takes in order to work on a project from cradle to grave solo. I now have shared (7) short stories to my Kindle Vella Library. Advice On Why People Have Different Styles of Communication

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a way better weekend than myself. I had to watch my Honda go on a flatbed to head to the junkyard. It was considered a total loss so I have to pick out another set of wheels at some point. The whole entire process is painful. Thank God for insurance. I have been cleaning up a mess from the flood in the basement for the past two days. It is finally in better shape. We got rid of the items that grow mold. I found some more questions geared for me on Quora and this one caught my eye. It discusses why each person has a way different style of communication. Obviously, I am not afraid of speaking whether it is answering questions or crafting my own. However, I have been known to sit back and observe when I can get away with it. What is your communication style? Do you tend to rub people the wrong way when you communicate? Here is the posed question and my offered response below. POSED QUESTION: "Why do some people love talking your ear off but other people you need pliers to get them to say anything?" -Chris Schmehl MY RESPONSE: "People behave differently in various social settings that also vary by geographic regions and culture. People have different childhood experiences that form who they become as adults. Some people are very confident with themselves and how they deliver their message so they freely engage in banter with others. Some women of the world come from a culture of “don’t speak until spoken to” so they follow the rules. Meanwhile, other women on the globe have no restrictions, other than group opinion, so they speak freely and openly when prompted by another party. A rural community more than likely, unless you are Amish, has a culture where people who are very open to chats with random strangers. Meanwhile, it is quite normal to be dead silent within an elevator group while living in large, metropolitan cities. Some folks are more comfortable observing other folks instead of first speaking. They may need some level of comfort before openly speaking. Some people rely on a bottle of booze to become the life of the party. I worked, as an electrician, years ago on a Hasidic Jewish compound. I was told that the men were not allowed to speak or look at me. However, an elder spoke to me admiring my “craftswomanship” when no one was looking. (That’s a future Verbally Disastrous Podcast topic) I come from many years in the construction industry so I don’t fear anyone so I will openly engage with someone when they speak with me.. However, I prefer to first observe the dynamics of a group in the beginning. We can’t control the behaviors of others. We can only control what we say and do. Maybe it’s your turn to break the ice with someone. Instead of wondering why a person doesn’t chime in, why don’t you take control of they dynamics and ask them what they are interested in? You would be surprised with the nugget of wisdom that you can extract from a quiet observer in the room. I wish you luck and success is future social settings." -Leslie M.
