Advice: Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs Question

We are coming close to Memorial Day weekend here in the United States. It is considered the kick-off of summer. I think I may be hanging out with my kids on that holiday weekend. I always have a great time when I hang out with my tribe. The same reminder goes for my first adult book entitled, "Construction Tales: Volume I: A Woman's Journey To Become An Electrician". I'm sharing with you another slice of some delicious Quora pie for your mind. This advice for today is regarding a question around the father of "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs", Abraham Maslow. I realized that I failed to provide an example and I can't revise my response. Therefore, my example would be a person, her name is Marie, who has a fear of heights while learning how to climb 45-foot telephone poles with climbing gear for her job as a lineman. In order to pass the course and land that job, she needs to get past her fear and push through. It's much safer to stay on the ground since losing your angle while distracted can mean falling quickly to the ground. However, passing that class would be considered as a great personal achievement and it will provide Marie's family with a steady job with a great income to take care of her entire family as a widow. In addition to feeding her family, she will boost her self esteem and launch her towards a life where she can pay her bills with no problems. In this example, Marie gained way more on her life path by pushing past fear and experiencing growth. Since this post is towards the end of my day shift, I'm going to now go straight into my advice without further delay. What example comes to mind when you think about the infamous pyramid? Let's get straight into it and check out the question and my response down below: POSED QUESTION: "Can you give an example of what Abraham Maslow meant when he said, "You will either step forward into growth, or you will step backward into safety"?" -By Andrew Parker MY RESPONSE: "Abraham Maslow was the psychologist who is the architect of “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”. This layered pyramid shares a person’s basic needs such as food, water, shelter as layer one. The next layer is safety and security. The third and fourth layers on top of the basic needs are the psychological needs such as self-esteem and the development of friends. The final top layer is the creation of one’s full potential via self fulfillment. Based upon my understanding on his theory on social behavior, I would think this phrase speaks upon either moving forward or falling back. There are two choices when you approach life. You either go full steam ahead and head towards learning lessons. Lessons lead to growth. If you step back and retreat in a known or safe environment, you may not learn the lesson that you are supposed to learn. It may feel safe that way and reasonable to do so. However, we are here on Earth to learn lessons. In reference to the Hierarchy of Needs, safety is the second layer of the pyramid. Meanwhile, the psychological growth that you will gain are the much higher levels on the pyramid. One may feel that safety is a high level to achieve. However, one has much more to climb.
