Things You Need To Know Before Telling A Person You Like Them?

Hello Everyone! I hope you made it safely through your work week with as little stress as possible? Now you get to spend the weekend exactly as you wish with your friends and family. Hopefully, the weather is decent on your side of the globe this weekend? I came in from walking ten miles tonight. My friends and family are going out tomorrow night to break bread and socialize at a Brazilian restaurant. I look forward to watching everyone feast like crazy and tell funny stories. I get to connect with some guys (they're like brothers to me) that I worked with for years and have not seen in awhile. I look forward to meeting up with them! Here is a question, that I was requested to respond, on Quora about things that you should know before revealing that you like that person. What do you think a person should know? Do you think I am jumping the gun on the requirements list? If not, am I missing an item? Do you even know the root of the reason for hesitation? I figure the person asking the question is a relatively young person. It is good to have these types of forums to kick the tires with other people on these types of questions. I wish that I had far more requirements before going down the rabbit hole of a relationship when I was younger. We can't change the past. We can only share our experiences with the younger generation coming up. They either choose to take the advice or be willing to make their own choices and endure the consequences of mistakes that come. Then again, having a huge requirements list will keep a person single to the point where they start investing in a cat farm. Yes, there must be a balance to where you ask the right questions yet not totally invade and cross another person's boundaries. That's especially invasive in the very beginning. POSED QUESTION: "What should I know about someone before I tell them I like them?" -Cameron Iacobucci MY RESPONSE: "You should know a decent amount about a person before revealing that you like them. Each level is a progression to your end goal. What is your end goal? Are you just looking for friends with benefits? If so, then just speak up. If you are looking for a long-term relationship or marriage, then you want to have a few basics down before going deeper into a rabbit hole with the other person. Why get wrapped up in a person if you are not ultimately compatible? People have one set of expectations and they evolve over time. Not doing your homework ahead of time can lead to heart break for both parties down the road. The first basic stage is finding a person physically attractive. Then love is on another level. Marriage or a long-term companion is an even higher level. You should know if you are both compatible with the following: common interests such as hobbies, music, etc. a party goer vs a home body desire to have children in the future any issues with religion if not the same the relationship goals of each person the dynamics of each family member nearby short and long term dreams and goals desired geographic location to settle down the family dynamics upon first having a child the type of spender/saver each party is which person wants to keep up with the Jones vs frugal? the type of career a person plans to have I believe that you should pay attention to these basic qualities along with your personal goals in the very beginning. You can avoid falling in love with someone that was incompatible from the minute you opted to let them know that they like you or they shared that they liked you.
